FAQs

  • Yes, Pilates is generally suitable for beginners. Pilates is a low-impact exercise method that focuses on building core strength, flexibility, and overall body awareness. It is known for its adaptability and is accessible for individuals at different fitness levels, including those who are new to exercise, resuming exercise after a period of rest, or returning to exercise post-injury or post-surgery with permission from a doctor.

  • We have two introductory offers. We offer two private sessions for $100 and five classes for $99. New clients are welcome to take advantage of one or both introductory offers!

We strongly recommend any new-to-Pilates practitioners to schedule two introductory private sessions before enrolling in our group classes. Being introduced to the practice and equipment in a private setting prior to joining a group sets you up for success.

  • Comfort is most important when choosing what to wear to class. Below you’ll find recommendations on what you should consider when selecting your outfit.

Comfortable Top: A comfortable and breathable tank top or fitted t-shirt is a good choice. Make sure it allows you to move your arms and torso freely.

Leggings or Capris: Opt for leggings or capri pants that allow for full range-of-motion. Avoid pants that are too baggy or have long, loose fabric that may get caught in the equipment. Please do not wear bottoms with buttons or zippers as they can scratch or get caught on our equipment.

Socks: For safety and hygiene, we ask that all clients wear grip socks, which have rubberized grips on the soles to provide traction on the equipment. We have these available for purchase at the studio.

Hair Ties: If you have long hair, bring a hair tie to keep your hair away from your face and neck.

  • During your first Pilates class, you can expect a combination of instruction, demonstration, and practice. Here's a general overview of what to expect:

Introduction and Welcome: The instructor or studio staff will likely greet you and provide a brief introduction if it's your first visit. They may ask about your fitness level, any injuries or health concerns, and your previous Pilates experience. (please arrive 5-10 mins early to allow for this)

Instruction: The instructor will guide you through each exercise, providing verbal cues and, in some cases, physical adjustments to help you understand and execute the movements correctly.

Hands-On Guidance: In some classes, instructors may provide hands-on guidance to assist with proper alignment and form. If you're not comfortable with hands-on adjustments, feel free to let the instructor know beforehand.

Variations and Modifications: The instructor will likely offer variations or modifications for different fitness levels. Feel free to choose the level that suits you, and don't hesitate to ask for modifications if needed.

Questions and Feedback: At the end of the class, there may be an opportunity for questions or feedback. If you have any concerns or questions about specific exercises, this is a good time to ask.

Post-Class Discussion: Some instructors may take a few minutes after the class to discuss your experience, answer questions, and provide recommendations for future classes.

Remember to wear comfortable clothing, bring water, and arrive 10-15 minutes early to set-up and familiarize yourself with the studio. If you have any health concerns or injuries, inform the instructor before the class begins. Most importantly, enjoy!
